Experiments
I redrew the lines of the skull, moved it some pixels to the right and redid that process again.
I was trying to create some kind of floating, smokey effect.
I am trying to find a good background for my final piece, also working on the perspective.
I changed the font of a rough I did, trying to find the best looking crime font.
Downloaded various fonts and tried them all out. I also tried them on my final piece and some roughs to make it easier for me to decide wich one I will use. The font with the black dot next to it is the one I am going to use, because I like how the splash starts on the first letter "R". Also it does remind me most of some kind of crime font.
Redid the brainstorming in another style I´m not really used to. I thought about having "CRIME" in the middle instead of "POSTERS", but I prefered the broken/blur effect font in the middle.
Took some pictures of me looking through fonts.

Drawings
The immediate foreground is supposed to be a keyhole, on the right there's a head on the floor with blood all over. In the back you see someone threatening the main character.
Thumbnails
Had to edit the level to actually be able to see the thumbnails, that's why the background is kind of black.
I really like the effect which you get when you look trough the keyhole, probably will be used in the final piece.
Same problem as I had before, the drawings were to light.
Going to add some sort of smokey effect in my final piece.

Copies
A Poster I remade of Scott Rysson, tried to keep the main idea in it but changed some things. Original posted at the bottom.
Brainstorming
Brainstorming I went through, I actually was looking forward to make a home-page. I changed my decision now to make a poster.

Case Study
The artist I`m looking at is Scot Ryersson. Ryersson won some awards in Illustrator and graphic design. He was attending the London Chelsea school of art and design.
As you can see in the pictures above, he has loads of experience in creating horror posters, since around half of his work was done in the horror genre.
The title of the poster I`m analysing is children of the corn. We can tell from the title that the film is probably about children living on a farm or in the corn. On the poster you can see a hand raising with an axe in his/her hand. In the background there is corn and children in it.The face expresion of the children in the corn looks like if they`re zombies. All we see is the shadow of the objects and the background is red, which is usuall for a horror poster.
In most of Scot Ryerssons work there is a sentence or a phrase which creates mistery.
There is nearly always red and black in the horror genre around middle eighties, since it represents blood and shadow, such as fear. The same applies to this poster, just that the red background dominates. The artisted used the colour emotionally and symbolically.
What I like at the poster is that it looks like the hand with the axe is coming out of the earth, since its all blacked out below and you start seeing the actual shape of the hand on the level of the childrens feet. Also you don`t have deph in there since everything below the childrense feet is blacked out.
I would have started this piece with creating the hand and the axe, since those are the top layers. After that I would go over to sketch the corn field and dark out the bottom. The artist must have developed some skills by looking at various corn fields to see how they are build up, also he must have a hand for detailed drawing. The poster will probably have taken around 1-2 weeks.
I really like the children with the white eyes, they instantly drew my attention on them. When I saw the poster first, I really wanted to watch the film since it looked like a good creepy horror film.
